“I was shocked to find the following article concerning the cloning of animals for disease experimentation.  It would appear that funding research firms provides for a cause beyond the original scientific reasoning behind gene cell therapies.

As I read I wonder what is next. Rats & Mice have been used for experimental treatments for years as the subjects got larger. You read about Pigs, Sheep etc. and now dogs that are cloned. Were the dogs cloned specifically to ward off the “ASPCA” or other agencies by justifying the experimentation with a cloned animal? Absolutely. However! I see this as another example of cruelty to animals, no matter the explanation.”

The scientists behind the first cloned dog have created a litter of cloned puppies which glow a bright red colour when held under ultraviolet light.

The South Korean-based research team took skin cells from a beagle, inserted fluorescent genes from a coral-like sea creature, and then put them into eggs.

Those eggs were implanted into the womb of a surrogate mother.

The researchers have called the first born Ruppy, which they say is short for Ruby Puppy.

Ruppy’s nails and stomach look red to the naked eye but under a UV light, Ruppy glows a bright red colour.

The head of the research team, Professor Lee Byeong-chun, says it is an achievement that goes beyond just the glowing novelty.

He hopes it will help cure human diseases such as Parkinson’s.

“We have succeeded in cloning dogs with gene transformation by inserting a special gene in the cell,” he said.

“Even though we inserted a transgenic gene in them, if we insert human disease-related gene in them, we can use them as great model to study diseases.”

The findings of the research have been published in the New Scientist magazine and Australian transgenic researchers are impressed.

Dr Kathie Raphael from the University of Sydney says transgenic research has been conducted in rats and mice but this is the first transgenic dog.

“If you are going to use this transgenic technique, any gene that has been shown to be involved in the disease can be used to modify the dog and study the disease, just as it can in rats and mice,” she said.

“So in that sense, you can use the transgenic dogs to study any disease.”

Dr Raphael says some people may wonder at the ethics of such research.

“I suppose dogs are seen as domestic pets and [they're] close to many people’s hearts, and in that sense, it is a value judgement as to whether you think it is an ethical thing,” she said.

“[But] I don’t believe it is dangerous in a sense that you would have to look at each dog and see what effect expression of this protein had.”

The scientists are hoping the long lifespan of dogs and their reproductive cycle could make them more relevant to human fertility than mice.

Wasteful, Needless spending with hard earned tax dollars totally sends me off an edge. “The Rage” was both shocked and appalled while reading the following article. What gives the Social Security Administration the right to spend valued dollars on lavish retreats like these anyway? The administration is obviously under scrutiny, hence the threats noted below but then decides to reward these stressed employees with tax payer money. Let them use employee benefits and seek outside counseling if the stress is that considerable.

In the midst of the nation’s dire financial crisis and astounding unemployment rate, the federal government spent $700,000 to treat officials of one struggling agency to a lavish three-day conference at an upscale resort.

U.S. taxpayers treated hundreds of Social Security Administration employees (and their relatives) to a festive retreat at one of Arizona’s fanciest hotels, the Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix, which is described as a desert jewel with a golf course, dozens of acres of lush gardens and swimming pools.

Besides the fancy lodging, the getaway included airfare, hotel entertainment, dancers, motivational speakers and food, according to news reports. There was also an evening excursion to a local casino. The agency says such meetings are essential and that the Phoenix jaunt was just one in a series of such regional meetings at an annual cost of more than $1 million.

The purpose of this latest desert oasis getaway, according to Social Security Administration brass, was to master the art of reducing stress due to a growing number of death threats against agency employees. No details were offered on who exactly has threatened their lives, however.

The retreat outraged several lawmakers, including top members of the House Ways and Means Committee who demanded an explanation for the trip in a letter to Social Security Commissioner Michael Astrue. The federal legislators ask why “At a time when millions of Americans are out of work and having to do more with less,” it decided to put on a taxpayer-funded $700,000 motivational conference at the prestigious Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa.

Oh, make it stop! Jon and Kate are apparently about as smug a fake couple as they come. Two individuals on TV arguing about life and erroneous behaviors surrounded by children. I am so sick of reality airings about fat people, celebrity rehab and reality couples I could vomit. I do NOT watch this show and do NOT have to based on what I hear and read.

Normally I look forward to listening to my morning radio show program that sponsors news and celebrity gossip according to who’s who and what’s new in their lives. For the last several days however its been covered up with the latest on Jon and Kate. Who cares about this couple and what makes them important anyway? They came from nothing, are nothing and will continue to be nothing but rich overpaid celebrity wannabees. It is fact you could take any couple in America, put a camera in there life and as long as they have children and argue or mutter “divorce” they too would become rich and famous.

Its been reported that almost 10 million people tuned into the season 5 premiere on Monday night, May 25th.  Ten million people viewing the High Heeled idiot Kate and her broken down depressed husband Jon. Its no wonder he is found in bars at 2am with a 23-year old blonde elementary teacher.  Jon is probably looking for a release he can’t seem to find with Kate.

The following article quote by Dadcentric has the best solution in my opinion:

“It is up to us, as fellow parents, to make it happen. We must stop being their enablers.

No more tuning into watch the train wreck. No buying (or even viewing for free online) the tabloids that are following their every move and whine. Avoid all books written by or about these people (Kate is currently pushing some cheesy photo album of the kids and seems to have a cookbook on tap for October). And, for God’s sake, if you see Jon hanging in a bar at 2 a.m. with some hot young thing, smack him upside the head and tell him to get back to the bed he’s made at home and deal with it.”

I could not agree more. Stop watching, stop thinking and certainly stop funding these idiots. Take away the camera, hope they get counseling and let’s all get back to what’s important in our own lives. I hope all will cease watching shallow, egotistical people on TV in hopes of improving there own lives. It won’t happen and certainly not by putting time, effort and conversation into a reality show like Jon and Kate.

Have Money, Success and no time for children during the younger years? Solution: Buy one!

Here we go again as I stated last month. An irresponsible mother seeking IVF treatments reaching an irrevocable path. Dr’s and experts alike agree that the outcome could prove to be dangerous.  Hopefully the mother will live another 20-30 years for the child and the child will not grow up depressed and vengeful of her decision.  It’s not up to me, I just seek rationality.

I have to admit people’s private lives are there own to live but when it affects an innocent child I cannot find an understanding! When does it become right for another to decide a young ones fate or future? Who gets to shift life’s balance once its provided out of a natural state. The Doctors and IVF’s clinic’s certainly do not.

I understand In Vitro Fertilization can correct certain medical conditions but a moralistic approach should be taken and understood. The technology should not out rule society’s dilemma.

A businesswoman who at 66 is to become Britain’s oldest mother says she does not have to defend her decision.

Elizabeth Adeney, of Lidgate, Suffolk, is eight months’ pregnant after undergoing IVF treatment in Ukraine, according to the Sunday Mirror.

She told the paper her age was not important, claiming it is “how I feel inside” that matters.

Ms Adeney said she felt as young as 39 at times and was fitter than some of her younger employees.

“It doesn’t interest me that I’m going to be the oldest mum in the country,” she told the paper, before revealing she planned to give birth at a clinic in Cambridge.

Most British clinics will not offer IVF treatment to women over the age of 50.

Ms Adeney, who runs a manufacturing business near her home and will be 67 in July, said: “I have young girls working for me in my factory and I’m fitter than half of them.

“I don’t have to defend what I’ve done. It’s between me, my baby and no-one else.”

Professor Severino Antinori, who helped 62-year-old Briton Patricia Rashbrook give birth three years ago, said he was shocked at the prospect of Ms Adeney having a child.

“I respect the choice medically but I think anything over 63 is risky because you cannot guarantee the child will have a loving mother or family,” he told The Sunday Times.

However, Dr Gillian Lockwood told BBC Radio 4′s Today programme that improved life expectancy meant a healthy woman of 66 would probably live another 20 or 30 years.

Using donor eggs from a younger woman reduced the risks of miscarriage or abnormalities to the child, said Dr Lockwood, of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology.

She said it would be “unfair” to discriminate on ground of age alone, adding: “We don’t prevent much younger women with serious health problems getting pregnant… even though they run much higher risks.”

Ok, so Carrie Prejean prefers marriage over gay marriage and releases some somewhat topless swimwear photos. This makes national news, why? It makes news because Donald Trump let’s Miss California keep her crown is why. I get somewhat amazed when people quote “This is the 21st Century” with inuendo making it OK to follow a fad or change a defining principle. Donald Trump is in it to get noticed, create controversy and define his own socialistic behavior for the country. However this is not a RAGE against Donald Trump but one against the definition of immoral behaviors in our society.

Immoral behaviors are defined by social groups abroad with hundreds of thousands to millions of voices. The bigger the group, the bigger the voice. The largest being the religious sector. Religious groups have the bible or many versions of it to back them. Other groups are built on opinion and social commentary. News associate’s abroad feed off the opinion of large social sectors and release the combined opinion of two parties. Immoral behaviors and the belief’s attached are a combination of centuries of opinion.

Where’s the fact you say? The fact lies with the strongest opinion held closest to you created by the strongest voice heard. Think about it for a second. Religious groups consistently quote the bible as the true word for defining immoral behavior while reading and reviewing Sunday scripture. Others practice various blood rituals in sanctification to there leader. Everyone follows there initial mentors viewpoint and then make a social decision to follow a stronger opinion or sustain a path based on the roots provided.

My point is this. Simply defining an immoral behavior as “bad” does not necessarily negate the fact that its affect on many lives is felt everywhere.  If Carrie Prejean was put in an awkward position to make racy photos it was up to her to walk away and decide what affect, if any it would have on her representation of California.  She like many others held the opinion “hey, it’s the 21st century” making it an acceptable social behavior for herself.  The decision to stay or walk away would not have made a difference and has not made one either way.  Carrie has her crown and we all have our own beliefs and opinions.  What was gained?

The following photo creeps me out.  Not sure why a note like this would draw on so many onlookers,  unless perhaps the size of the note itself.  I would not even have noticed such a note as I don’t pay much attention to small details or seek out others curiosities.  Do any of you seek out strange behavior or look at strange objects?

News associations around the world follow celebrities and report daily mis-haps all over the globe paying big bucks to paparazzi for photos etc. I don’t get it. If I gave a child on the street a million dollars, two things would happen. The child would save the money and use it to build a future OR run out, buy some booze, and wrap a shiny new sports car around a pole. The childs story including the celebrity loser Tonya Harding appearing on Oprah at the same time, will equate to the loser winning the viewers focused interest. Why? Its called ratings. If you reviewed the link above you will see where Oprah is basically honoring all the creepy, crazy and insane murderers and marderers that span a generation. Who cares, about the who or why. I do, and don’t get me started on Oprah Winfrey.

Tonya Harding sickens me every time I see or hear from her. It is always her sad face saying she has “paid for her mistake.” Give me a break. They should have put her away and thrown away the key. Talk about a has been wanna be celebrity. BUT, she gets paid for appearances and interviews. I guess I would do the same if all I had was my shame to attest to. Why not ignore the thought of her and the despicable act that surrounded and shamed so many?

As of late I have been bombarded with “Thanks for following, to get more (or if not receiving enough) followers click here.” I say enough as Twitter is becoming the next pit stop for SPAM. One of my recent tweets requested that “Any Follower requesting to get me more followers, stop following.” I knew that requesting this type of action publicly would bring forth even more DM (Direct Message) activity. However, I feel it important for new twitsters to know and understand you can still stand up for yourself on Twitter without being bullied. As a result I had several followers (presumably marketers) stop following which proves action can add to result.

SPAM in any form in unavoidable but control is possible. To report SPAM directly to Twitter sent a tweet to @spam to follow Twitter’s spam profile & report Twitter spam via direct message.

A recent Twitter article written by Mashable “FOLLOW FAIL: The Top 10 Reasons I Will Not Follow You in Return on Twitter” in tip 8 clearly states these types of twitter approaches to gain followers fail.

8. Your most recent updates or DM’s make references to any need to achieve “more Twitter followers”

For me, Twitter is not a shallow popularity contest, it is about forging interesting connections and conversations with other people. My Twitter followers are far more to me than a simple follower count: they are friends, they are colleagues, they are collaborators, they are peers, and they are sources. To follow someone in return whose only intent is clearly to acquire more followers would be to devalue the esteem with which I hold my other followers.

I find myself upset at the pouring out of support and financial gifts given recently to Nadya Suleman A.K.A “The Octomom”. Why is it that we should feel sorry for or worse, guilded into providing for a mother of 14 who incesently throws her mis-happed pregnancy in our face.

The news of a recent Trademark filing has shown her knack for cashing in on every thinkable way to persuade any “Takers” her way. In the application for Trademark she cites to promote the name “Octomom” on dresses, pants, shirts, and baby products. In a 2nd filing Nadya Suleman also cites using the name for variety TV shows. The nickname stuck after Tabloids started monitoring the pregnancy and publishing questionable details of her life. The January 26th 2009 pregnancy drew public attention worldwide.

In my opinion those children would have been better off living independent lives, cared for by foster parents. “The Rage” would not necessarily promote splitting up families based on monetary gain but considers the lifestyle of Nadya Suleman unsuitable for raising children. Lately, reports of her daily habits show she is more interested in making money and working out than raising these children herself. A need to feed the plastic surgery machine. Taking these points as well as the past into account, separation seems prudent. It would at least show a better use of tax money other than support for her future earnings.

I think the California tax payers are due a refund and should have come out more strongly against the state for there mis-guided handling of the situation. California residents “demand your money back” or better yet have the state take action against the Trademark application. Octomom? How about OctoWHAT? It rages me! How about you?
